This past weekend we were treated to a mini family vacation on Lake Gaston by my brother-in-law's family. It was a Christmas present that I have been anticipating and we had beautiful weather for most of the trip. Baby hat and sunglasses needed.
Three generations on the dock and the only one fishing would rather ham it up for my camera.
We spent every minute possible outside enjoying the waterfront property and that included nap time on auntie's shoulder. I don't think she minded.
Desmond got a chance to wear his swim trunks and explore the sand...with his mouth. Good thing his big cousin was around to teach him to look at objects on the beach, not eat.
This trip came kayak included. Every adult took a turn at having their own moment of zen on the lake. ahhhhhhhhhhh...
What a fantastic break from the reality of home repairs and squirrels in the attic. Especially now that it's rainy and cold and time to burrow inside once again.
